MIS: We specialize in intensive care
MIS is your outpatient intensive care service with a special focus on non-hospital ventilation care, tracheal cannula and secretion management, tracheostomy care, and vegetative states. We offer our clients an alternative to fully inpatient care facilities: life in a supported shared apartment in Berlin Schöneberg.

Well cared for. Safely supported. In shared apartments in Berlin Schöneberg.
The shared apartments are a great place for care: Clients and their families appreciate the warm, welcoming atmosphere. Many clients have been living there for years. With great dedication, we accompany them and make everyday life in the shared apartments as flexible as possible. MIS takes care of the entire nursing care. In the private and communal areas of the shared apartments, the clients in need of intensive care find a new barrier-free home – including individual personal space. The living area can be furnished according to individual preferences.
In our care approach, we focus on familiar faces: Clients are cared for by their primary caregiver. This creates a sense of security and comfort. We take plenty of time for conversations with family members. Relatives are welcome to be involved in the care, and we guide and instruct them as needed.
Insights into life in the shared apartment
Our goal: To maintain and regain quality of life.
Naturally, the daily schedule for each client is individually tailored. However, we would like to give you a first glimpse. Get an impression of life in the shared apartment here!
The day in the shared apartment begins with equipment checks, controls, and the handover of duties. Clients are woken up at different times, and specific wake-up times are explicitly allowed, as we respect the individual living habits of our clients. This is followed by basic care, medication administration, mobilization, and more. Breakfast is ready – the daily routine is in full swing!
In the late morning, occupational therapists, speech therapists, and physiotherapists regularly care for the clients in the shared apartment. Music therapy and visits to the hairdresser and foot care specialists complement the program. Early afternoon often includes visits from specialists who continuously care for our clients. It is always ensured that all experts work together in harmony. There is always time for lunch.
A significant part of life in the shared apartment is the coffee and cake time around 3 p.m. In the communal areas, clients regularly play games such as Yahtzee, Uno, and Skat. For variety, a visit to KaDeWe at Wittenbergplatz is one example. All excursions are conducted with 1:1 care. Family and friends are welcome as visitors all day long, even in the early evening hours.
During the evening care, staff often take time for an in-depth conversation with the clients. Do you want to have a shared dinner? Once a month, interested individuals meet in the early evening to watch a movie together. Conversation rounds about current events and personal experiences bring the residents together.
Clients can rely on tailored care during the night hours. Each client has an individual emergency plan: for the shared apartment, there are dedicated on-call doctors who know the clients well.

Our team for reliable intensive care
The nursing professionals at MIS provide individual care in the shared apartments and maintain professional communication with family members, doctors, and therapists. They have life experience and high social competence. Thanks to their advanced qualifications and experience, they can assess rehabilitation potential in collaboration with specialists, such as pulmonologists, very well.
All MIS staff members are trained in non-hospital ventilation. Our multicultural team includes department heads, nursing professionals for non-hospital ventilation, practical instructors, wound care experts, nursing assistants, and caregivers. To maintain and improve our quality, regular training and further education for our staff are a given. A positive work environment is a priority at MIS.
